The
question whether the string, wind, percussion and
baw instruments of various families that have
appeared at various times and places in the world
have all been derived from one another has not
been answered yet.
An
instrument, seen in any region can also be seen in
another area around the same time-frame with minor
differences.
Especially for communities living close to each
other geographically, more obvious similarities
can be observed. No doubt the social, cultural and
economic relations between the communities also
have a great influence on the similarities between
the instruments., one comes-up with rather complex
situations. Just like creating fire by rubbing two
pieces of wood together., creating a sound with a
string stretched between to fixed points is also a
significant discovery of the human mind. If we
take the string instruments which are the most
developed among the instruments considering that
they were discovered and developed by this method,
we believe that the theory of ascribing their
development to a single mation is mistaken.
Accordingly, it can be thought that every
developing community also produces their
instruments capable of expressing their own
melodies. But certainly it is known that many
instrument have been produced, enriched and
developed through recirocal influences.
When the subject is seen from this point of viev,
taking up the instruments one and according to
countries can be quite misleading. Therefore, in
my briefing, I will try to touch on especially the
historical, economical and political relations
between the Mediterranean countries, the string,
wind, percussion and bow instruments that have
come into being under the effect of the cultural
heritage resulting from these relations and on the
apparent characteristics of their historical
development.
As
a result, music is as old as humanity. There is no
nation that does not like or is not interested in
music. Music clearly, expresses the spiris,
emotions and sensitivities on nations.
The loving and passionate Italian always sigh and
express their passion in their songs. The French
rend towards joyful songs. The arabic songs warm
your soul and carry you away to eternity. The
fervent souls of the Spaniards have infiltrated
into their songs.
The Turkish songs, one can feel courage and
bravery and the melancholy of the long migrations.
Instruments are common discovery of the societies.
An instrument continuously moves around with
various purposes and means. Eacah time they move,
instruments meet a different culture and is thus
usually enriched all the more.
Collection has a approximate 200 instruments but
which is seen part of the collection.
